Offerings update for this weekend :-)!!!

Hello Lovelies

Just want to give you an update on what the offerings are so far for this weekend – more still to be finalised this week!

We have a beautiful program with the focus on music and there have also been many offerings for children. Remember children under 5 are free and 17 and below only R100.

~Music of the Earth’s Heart~
with Daniel Baum
For the kids, and the bigger ones too, it’s time to get Wild! What animals do we know? What elements? What sounds and noises do they make? How do they move? We will run, we will gallop, rush and flow crawl and slither and waddle and blow sniff and smell, roar and yell And whatever else we know to tell?

~Living Together in Community Discussion Group~
with Daniel Baum
If we can’t share our concerns about living in community – shine light on our shadows – how will we ever resolve the issues and feel comfortable with taking steps towards it?
In this discussion we will initially each give voice to our general concerns about living in community. Then we will focus on the ones that deal more with the emotional side of living in community. Some potential questions to ponder….
How do we balance the ‘me’ and the ‘we’?
How do we maintain good relationships in the community?
Do we all need to be friends?
What happens when intimate relationships encounter trouble or end? How is the community affected? How should it respond?

~Kundalini Yoga~
with Jan Joubert Sunday Prana on Saturday
Kundalini Yoga is a technique for union with God, unifying the self with the true universal Self. Energetically it works along similar channels to tantra, only it uses other means to an end. Kundalini yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual discipline for developing strength, awareness, character, and consciousness. Practitioners call Kundalini yoga the yoga of awareness because it focuses primarily on practices that expand sensory awareness and intuition in order to raise individual consciousness and merge it with the Infinite consciousness of God Brahman. Considered an advanced form of yoga and meditation, its purpose is to cultivate the creative spiritual potential of a human to uphold values, speak truth, and focus on the compassion and consciousness needed to serve and heal others.

~Clothes Swap~
with Cara Mazetti
Reduce the amount of clothes we make, reuse the clothes we have and recycle materials to make other beautiful garments. These principles are what we at Maramade celebrate through our business of buying, reworking and selling vintage clothing. Bring along some pre-loved items and be a part of this conscious movement towards clothing at the Clothes Swap during lunch time on Saturday the 10th of March where you will also have an opportunity to buy affordable clothes, jewellery and accessories by Maramade during the trade hour.

~Mandala Magic Playshop~
with Sonica Kirsten
Sonica studied art and therapy and in Mandala work found the perfect way to express and experience both. After visiting India she started playing with mandalas of all shapes and sizes and would love to share the joy of sacred geometry with you.

~Celtic Fairy Tales~
with Rein Buyze
Join Rein, a Waldorf teacher from Stellenbosch as he takes us on an enchanted journey into the land of Fairy.

~Original Play~
with Douwe van der Zee
Original play’ is what children do by nature until they get ‘adulterated’, which seems to happen at earlier and earlier ages in today’s culture. Re-learning this entails more than a few ‘tricks’; it is literally about a different state of being. The metamessages of original play are always “You are lovable” and “there is nothing to fear”; the direct opposite of cultural play. Probably most people are convinced that they know everything there is to know about play. At some level, of course, that is true, but getting back to original play entails some unlearning of cultural habits. So what we do in the workshops and presentations is mainly the unlearning of the cultural mindset in order to release our authentic play nature. That is why I encourage parents to at least attend a presentation, preferably with a little bit of ‘playshopping’, before playing with their children. It’s a bit like first rediscovering the Christ in Christianity!

~ Songs and Dances of Universal Peace~
with Alan Hughes, Harold Epstein and friends
These shared Songs and Dances of Universal Peace stem from various sources, but for me they primarily originate from a Sufi, Murshid Sam Lewis from California. The devotional songs and chants, as well as the dances which are simple movements with sung words, are from various spiritual traditions as well as non-denominational, and are shared by all to create an atmosphere of unity, joy, peace and connection to the divine in all. We hold a monthly meeting in Cape Town as well as occasional retreats.

~Colour therapy oracle cards workshop~
with Emma Raysman
In 2009, I started channelling and this eventually led to my own deck of self channelled and self designed oracle cards. These are colour therapy oracle cards with 46 different Beings! Every single card frame is a different colour, the colour of each Being of Light that was channelled. These empowering cards offer guidance and support through your guides and Angels. They stimulate healing by helping us move beyond old perspectives, clear out retained emotions and release limiting beliefs. They are like inner oracles that reveal what is blocking your ability to bring your Best Self into the world and fulfil your desires!

~ ‘Songs & Stories’: Live music~
with Shamanzi & the Sonic Weavers
Shamanzi ‘Naked’ session – original world music, a mixture of songs with guitar & 2 voices in harmony, and sacred sounds played through voices & indigenous instruments from various parts of the world.

~ Nutrition: Equinoxes as times of healing~

Did you know that your body naturally detoxes over the equinoxes? In this talk we will explore how the various natural rhythms impact our bodies so we can make the most of the opportunities for cleansing, healing and opening ourselves to connect with universal wisdom, with specific focus on the upcoming Autumn Equinox on 20th March.

~ Advait Tantra Heart Meditation~
with Annwen Mazetti
Heart meditation is an easing and supportive practice for getting through the tougher parts of life’s journey. It is a way to handle intense sensation. With some diligent practice at times of pain, suffering, and particularly heart-soreness, your heart’s capacity increases beyond the requirements of your own suffering. What used to literally be “killing you” becomes “Heart Food”.

This meditation lasts for one hour and has four stages, three with music, and the last without. First stage: Shaking. Second stage: Dancing. Third: sitting or standing and being still. Forth: lying and being still. It acts like an energetic shower, softly shaking you free of your day and leaving you refreshed and mellow.
