FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT DOES CO-CREATION MEAN?

Co-creation means that although we have done the initial groundwork and preparation for the gathering – creating a beautiful Space of Love – during the SOL weekend, we all come together as a loving and supportive community/ family to offer our energy, skills, gifts and awareness to the space!

AWARENESSES

Meals will be prepared communally, and we ask that everyone take a turn in the kitchen.  We also ask that you hold an awareness of keeping spaces clean, taking back with you all that you have brought, and dealing responsibly with refuse – reduce, reuse, recycle! Other roles will also come up spontaneously during the weekend, and we ask that you enter into them with love: e.g. fire keeping, refuse awareness. If you see something that needs doing – do it : )!

FUN AND SPONTANEITY

There is also space for spontaneity! Be ready to offer up your performances – face painting, fire dancing, activities with kids, music/jamming circles, open circles for discussion and whatever feels free, fun and exciting in the moment!.

HOW MUCH FOOD SHOULD I BRING?

Bring generously. Enough food to feed you and your family for the whole weekend. The food is going to be prepared communally, so bring boxes of fruit/veg/ and big packets of nuts, seeds, lentils, pulses, rice, dates, superfoods etc. Please bring your own tea/coffee items and drinking water. The tap water comes from our dam, and is drinkable, however, at this time of year the taste is sulphuric.

WHAT FOOD SHOULD I BRING?

Fresh and delicious ingredients to make yummy vegetarian meals (with a raw focus). Boxes of fruit, salad and vegetables. lentils/pulses, rice, nuts, seeds, raisins, dates, sprouts, tahini etc.

The more yummy food you bring, the more deliciousness there will be for us to all share. We are placing our trust in god, the universe and your generosity that there will be a good variety of delicious healthy food to create amazing meals.

Our focus is going to be on raw foods, however, we still envision having some cooked grains and pulses, roasted butternut and potatoes on the fire etc.

Below is a list of some of the food items that make up our ideal shopping list with items for you to choose from. Let your intuition guide you with what to bring…(we are currently in communication with angels who will be whispering in your ear when you do your shopping : ))!

WHY DO I HAVE TO BRING FOOD, CANT I BUY IT THERE?

In order to make the event as non-commercial as possible, we have decided to create a communal kitchen, rather than support stalls or vendors. This brings down costs for you, and also enables us to enter into a beautiful co-creation in the kitchen.

HOW DO THE KITCHEN/MEALS WORK?

To enter into the spirit of co-creation and to keep prices down we have decided on a “bring and share” approach – yummy healthy vegetarian/vegan food with a focus on raw food that will be prepared communally.

Food is love and consciousness!

In the kitchen we will prepare food with our full love and awareness – chanting, singing, laughing and loving : )!

We ask that everyone volunteer to help prepare at least one meal. We are also looking for overseeing kitchen angels to help co-ordinate meals . We need at least one person permeal to play the role of overseeing kitchen angel . Apply now! The universe will bless you with bliss and a year of a happy tummy for your blessed contribution

HOW DO I BOOK MY TICKET?

Please confirm your place by buying tickets beforehand. Tickets will not be available at the door. Book yours NOW as we are limiting tickets to create an intimate heart space : )! Tipi beds are available but limited, so best to book early.

IF I AM ASSISTING IN THE KITCHEN OR OFFERING AN EVENT/WORKSHOP, DO I STILL HAVE TO BUY A TICKET?

Yes! This is a co-created space in which we all share and receive in equal measure. This way of working has also enabled us to keep ticket prices as low as possible to make SOL more accessible.

If you are offering an event or acting as a kitchen angel, you will still have lots of time to enjoy the many gifts of the space and to participate in other events and workshops !

There is something very beautiful in being able to offer and to contribute to the creation of this kind of space.  As with all things, the more you contribute the more you receive : ).

HOW DO TOILETS/SHOWERS WORK?

We are going to have composting toilets at various points. Sawdust will be available, please put a scoop in after you have done your business. There are only four showers (limited hot water is avail). Please bring only biodegradable cosmetics and soaps. We encourage you to get down with nature and cool down and swim in our huge dam (20min walk from tipi site). Please no soaps in the dam.

Please email info@spaceoflove.co.za if you have any questions or thoughts.
