Kins’ domains

Kin’s Domains are how Anastasia describes eco-villages. Each family creates a “space of love” usually about one hectare (2.8 acres) of land. When several of these spaces are joined together, they create a “Kin’s domain” or eco-village.

Since the books came out in Russia over ten years ago, there have been over 150 eco-villages established with over 100 families living in each village or domain. Anastasia does not give much information about Kin’s Domains until book three and beyond. It seems as if she is preparing us with the first books

Spaces of Love

Anastasia talks about every one of us creating what she calls ‘spaces of love’. These spaces are usually about one hectare (2.8 acres) per family. When several of these spaces of love are joined together they create a ‘Kin’s domain’ or eco-village.

Many beautiful and amazing things happen in ones space of love. While with Vladimir in her space of love Anastasia says that every living thing in her space of love, every blade of grass and insect reacts to a change in the rhythm of her heart. She then shows Vladimir how this is done and slows her heartbeat down. Immediately the rhythm of sounds all around slows down to match her heartbeat. (pp 136-137)

4 STEPS: Anastasia’s template for creating a Kin’s Domain.

Step 0: “Clean up where you are now”

Step 1: Finding the IDEAL LOCATION on the Earth

  • which you prefer to all others
  • where you want to spend all your life
  • where you wish your children to live out their lives
  • which has a favourable climate for you

The intergenerational dimension is important:

  • finding the ideal spot takes a long time
  • nature is very place-specific –> knowledge builds up from generation to generation
  • adaption to local conditions
  • continuity — no kins domain if children do not stay

Step 2: Take ONE HECTARE of land FOREVER

  • defines relationship with the outside world (including the State and “property”)
  • famil space free of encroachment
  • territoriality is natural
  • anastasia eco-village is not a commune: “one big family” vs union of families
  • networks in nature and human society
  • competition and cooperation in nature

Step 3: Build (plant) a FENCE

  • defines the bounderies
  • material expression of a non-material understanding
  • never neglect the material plane
  • physical barrier needed for a mental image of a Space

Step 4: Build a HOME, plant a GARDEN, give birth to & raise CHILDREN

  • importance of home
  • all-inclusive approach

How far are you?

How far are you with implementing some of Anastasia’s designs? Made a sketch? bought land? made a bee hive? or planted a garden? Please send us drawings, designs or photos of your family domain, land, garden or home in which you are already implementing Anastasia’s ideas, plus a short paragraph describing your image.

Community Design by Christine

100 to 200 families living in a new-type settlement, on their own land in harmony with each-other and the earth – being an example of a sustainable community – for South Africa and the World
This project is intended to create an environmentally sustainable, socially just and spiritually fulfilling human presence on earth. It is the very first draft of a sustainable settlement for 100 to 200 families according to principles outlined in the “Ringing Cedar” books. (http://www.ringingcedars.com) This settlement will also provide a home for AIDS impacted orphans and whole families.
