(last!) Day gathering update!!
In this update: program and meal arrangements
Hello Darlings! OK, me n Samantha Slewinski russtled up a wee bit of a program together last night next to the fire over a delicious dinner of mezze munchies and raw choc. Here it is…
Cape town day gathering next weekend : Changing the day from Saturday to Sunday
Hi Loves.
A quick update…
DATE: I’m changing the date to Sunday as there is a big festival in muizenberg that the whole muizenberg community is involved in.. The Muizenberg community is so lovely- i would like to make is easy for them to attend. Also our host would very much like to be there. I apologise if this messes with anyone’s arrangements! And this way the earth dance people may be more inclined to join us if they’ve had their fill of earth dancing by Sunday.
OFFERINGS: One or two have offered to do some activities (children’s activities, a talk, some music and a dance) but i don’t have more than that confirmed… so if you would like to help us co-create this, please let me know.. it can be very informal and playful too if you have a fun idea up your sleeve. Will send out a proper activities list on Wednesday.
MEALS: Bring and share enough for Lunch and left overs for Supper if you are staying. If you plan to eat please be sure to contribute food to the feast!!
Raw/ vegan/ vegetarian please :-)
Love Annwen
…oops. here are the dates and venue for the day gathering :-)
Time :Saturday, September 24 · 9:00am – 9:00pm
Location: Awakenings (Dale Simpson’s house). 26 upper towers rd, muizenberg, cape town.
Please park in Albert road to avoid blocking Upper Towers- you’ll see what I mean…
♥Space of Love Spring Equinox Day Gathering♥
Dear Heart’s Tribe
It has been so delightful to be sharing the turning of the seasons with you. Winter solstice was magical at the blue hippo in Greyton. There is something so fine, so tender and precious and at the same time, deeply nourishing and grounding that comes about when we have the courage to drop our armouring and connect with one another from a space of authenticity, vulnerability- a space of love.
This month we do so within the greater context of Spring and all the subtle energy of New-ness that it brings.

Nonkululeko’s Space of Love experience
At the recent Space of Love at Umphakatsi, we had the pleasure of having two writers who shared their experiences. Here’s Nonku’s blog post which you can find at:
http://wildwomendo.blogspot.com/2011/04/love-freedom.html
I recently found myself sitting right in a valley of love, surrounded by nature in its peaceful and tranquil splendor. Started reflecting on how incredible it felt to survive on basics. Reflected on how abundance flows from the deep crevices of river beds, the roots of plants – watered by generous rain waters and the intoxicatingly sweet-scented aroma of lantana flowers. That kind of love and abundance is limitless…
The simplicity in the ways of life here, the depth of breathe, the instinctual sharpness and the relevance if all the rest of it. The spirit of love, the feeling of unity, trust and security; the ability to truly be yourself without fear and inhibition. The determination of existence through love and oneness with nature. A space where money doesn’t determine how and what we do, but breathing does.
Stars laid out in milky splendor; darkness is a comfortable blanket and not a cause for panic. Silence is a teleconference with the gods, not an awkward pause.

Love times love…. When souls find each other at the most appropriate setting. It’s the most natural thing.

The love shaped leaves that sprouted freely all around the Peace and Comm-Unity huts. It was quite surreal how many of them there were. Or maybe it just reflected where my headspace was.
True love knows nothing better than blossom.
The love that radiated from the youth of Steynsdorp 2 was humbling. *I asked the two boys what they were listening to on their cellphone radio and the one on the right responded and said ‘Bricks, the jahman!’ (Bricks is a dreadlocked kwaito / hip hop artist from South Africa. Natives sometimes call all dreadlocked people Jahman or Rasta) – thought that was funny!
The godfather*said in a deep bellowing voice* Haroun Kola (an incredibly warm spirit with a beeeeeeg heart and a happy, bouncy child inside of him. He’s a joy to watch around children…) He’s also a geek (we love geeks!) and a great Kahuna massage therapist. Oh and he’s a feminist….we LOVE feminists. The angel next to him is Fleur… she epitomises LIGHT! What a happy, loving child.
Love in a time of Lantana! These aromatic flowers were all around us. At some point, we went through a 20meter long dense bush of Lantana. It was a bitter-sweet experience. An incredible one nonetheless.
The labour of love…. At the eco-village working on building on the space is truly rewarding and of course, great for the land.
This is the lady at the heART of it all. Sarah Motha makes me so proud! About 5 years ago, we sat at the same spot she was sitting on, where she was telling me her vision for this village she was at the preliminary stage of building. Today, her energy and compassion can be felt all around the village. Her deep humility and compassion is incredibly inspiring. Love her to bits.
These lovely bags, made with love by Sarah Motha; worn by another lovely, lively soul Carolyn Howell – she took us through a few spiritual chants, storytelling and Tai Chi. She radiateslove! She reminded me of what it means to be free — completely free within your spirit and to transfer that energy to people around her.
Umphakatsi Peace Ecovillage is in Steynsdorp, Mpumalanga), 10km from the Oshoek, Swaziland border and a mere 1hr from Mozambique.

Etherion Community Action & Gatherings for January 2011
Phone George Neo (a RINGING CEDARS READER from Victoria) at the Magpie House for more Information: 03 9752 5838
George wrote in his email that was sent to me:
“Inviting visitors early to late January 2011. This is an important pivotal opportunity to proceed & formalise a Collaborative Community group at our beloved 701 hectares in the NEW ENGAND/NORTHERN TABLELANDS OF NSW, let us know if you’d like to visit, or just call.
Activities may include =
Roll a huge new water tank around 1km, deferred due to heavy rain & boggy conditions.
Re-construct the “natural dam” wall to provide a 50 metre water way (down to 10m currently).
Camping, swimming, photos of expanded waterways including the 30m waterfall & 200m cascades.
“Koa” bush food foraging, watch & apply the 5 dvd Koa collection.
Garden & orchard care, land allocation plan, community mode (think about Stewardship, rather than Ownership).

If you can’t make these dates & are keen to collaborate, call or email us anyway, now is the time! Note, there’s very limited indoor accomodation although camping or caravans are a very pleasant option this time of year.
The basis of our initiative is, basically, INTEGRITY, integrity with others & ALSO to one-self. We are in a position to offer Land, Lots of it, low up-front cost, although you would have to commit time & resources (yes some cash at least!) to establishing your own infrastructure.
Costs are to be minimised but will escalate with group infrastructure, eg, accomodation & all-weather tracks are high priorities but can be established quickly & cheaply with group participation & commitment.
Like ourselves, we are NOT expecting ANYONE to immediately base themselves on the Community Foundation land, like us, we are busily coming & going & little by little establishing a functional domain with an already established homestead & remote power system, around 40 fruit/nut trees have been planted, water tanks repaired & a large new one delivered, water plan under way & plans for schools etc etc. And like us, improvements can always be passed on or sold as appropriate.
Now for the important bit – who we’d like to attract!
Evolvists not Survivalists.
Spiritual rather than Religious.
All-denonimational rather than non-denonimational.
Collaborative Co-Creators rather than individualistic.
Neither Dependent nor Independent, but Inter-Dependent.
Ask not what one can get out of this, but what one can contribute.
Humbleness of a Warrior, not humbleness of a beggar.
Be Ruthless but Charming, not Harsh.
Be Cunning but Nice, not Cruel.
Be Patient but Active, not Negligent.
Be Sweet but Lethal, not Foolish.
Apply the attributes of Control, Discipline, Forbearance, Timing, and Will.
Also review “Spirit Guidelines / Code of Conduct” & the Community Invocation from http://www.magpiehouse.com.au/EcoVillage.htm”
